Cookie Policy

This policy explains how Friendswith Limited uses cookies and similar technologies in Appraisal Builder (the Service). Similar technologies include browser local storage and session storage. It should be read together with our Privacy Policy.

We keep this to a minimum. We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and we do not sell information collected through cookies.

1. Strictly necessary

The Service needs these to sign you in and keep it secure. They cannot be switched off within the Service.

  • __session (first-party cookie). Keeps you signed in. It is a secure, HTTP-only cookie that your browser’s scripts cannot read. It expires after up to 5 days, or when you sign out.
  • Firebase Authentication (browser storage). Stores your sign-in state so you stay signed in between visits. It is cleared when you sign out.
  • Google reCAPTCHA Enterprise / Firebase App Check (third-party cookies and browser signals). Confirms that requests come from a genuine browser rather than an automated attack. Google may set its own cookies and collect device and browser information for this purpose, under Google’s Privacy Policy.

2. Functional

These remember choices you make in the app. They stay on your device and are not used for tracking.

  • appraisal-editor-session and at-pdf-session-resume (session storage). These keep the appraisal editor and your sign-in working smoothly within a browser tab. They are cleared when the tab is closed.
  • outlined-alphabet:… (local storage). Used by administrators only. It remembers template design settings on that device.

3. Analytics

These help us understand how the app is used so we can fix problems and improve it.

  • Google Analytics for Firebase (_ga and _ga_* cookies, which last up to 2 years). Measures page views, feature use and app performance. It is not used for advertising.
  • Vercel Web Analytics (no cookies). Counts page views in aggregate without setting cookies or identifying you.

Analytics do not run on appraisal pages sent to vendors (links beginning with /view/).

4. Third-party content

Every page, including appraisal pages, loads fonts from Google Fonts. Google receives your IP address and browser information so that it can deliver the font files. Google Fonts does not set cookies.

5. Appraisal pages sent to vendors

Appraisal pages opened from a personal link use only the strictly necessary security technologies and the Google Fonts described above. They do not use analytics or advertising cookies. The engagement information shown to the sending agent is recorded by our own servers and is described in section 5 of our Privacy Policy.

6. Managing cookies

Most browsers let you view, block and delete cookies and site data in their settings. If you block strictly necessary cookies or storage, you will not be able to sign in or use the Service. You can opt out of Google Analytics in any browser by installing the Google Analytics opt-out add-on.
